TCB raises sugar price by Tk 30

The state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has increased the price of sugar by Tk 30 per kilogram under its sales initiative.

The TCB will begin selling some essential items at subsidised rates to 10 million low-income beneficiaries starting today (Thursday).

With this adjustment, the price of one kilogram of sugar will be Tk 100, up from the previous rate of Tk 70, as stated in a TCB press release on Wednesday.

Additionally, the TCB will offer edible oil, pulses, rice, and dates at discounted prices to the beneficiaries in honor of the holy month of Ramadan.

As part of the TCB's sales campaign, two liters of edible oil will be priced at Tk 100 per liter, two kilograms of lentils at Tk 60 per kilogram, one kilogram of sugar at Tk 100, dates at Tk 150 per kilogram, and five kilograms of rice at Tk 30 per kilogram.
