Training helped female sewing operators to achieve promotion and increase productivity in the country's readymade garment sector, according to a report.
International Finance Corporation (IFC) revealed the information at a programme held at the Radisson Blu hotel in the capital on Wednesday.
The IFC provided work progression and productivity toolkits training to 144 female sewing operators.
It was aimed to equip women with the skills necessary to become supervisors.
The report titled 'Cutting through the Cloth Ceiling', released Wednesday (today), showed that IFC's training help redress the gender imbalance on sewing lines.
IFC’s Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal Country Manager Wendy Werner, among other brands and factory representatives, was present at the programme.
