UCB inaugurates its 186th Sub-Branch at Teknaf

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) inaugurated its 186th Sub-Branch on 30 September 2025 at the heart of Teknaf Municipality.

The sub-branch has been launched with the vision of delivering modern banking services at people’s doorsteps and ensuring financial inclusion, according to a media release. 

Distinguished businessman, social worker, and politician of Teknaf, Mr. Abdullah inaugurated the Sub-Branch as Chief Guest with the presence of Mohammad Ridwanul Hoque, Head of Distribution & Strategy of UCB, and Zeeshan Kingshuk Huq, Chief Communication Officer of UCB.

Among others; UCB officials, local dignitaries, businessmen, and valued customers were also present at the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammad Ridwanul Hoque said, “We aim to further expand UCB’s extensive network of over 415 branches and sub-branches.” He also emphasized the importance of security and transparency of transactions for customers.

Introducing the branch team, Zeeshan Kingshuk Huq, CCO of UCB, stated, “Compared to last year, UCB’s net deposit has grown by nearly 28%, whereas the overall industry growth was just over 7%. UCB has never bounced or delayed any cheque from any account.”

Distinguished political personality of Teknaf Upazila, Mr. Sultan Ahmed, BA, delivered the closing remarks as the special guest.

The invited guests expressed their best wishes for the success of this new sub-branch, and the inauguration was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
