Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed has urged the countries of Indian Ocean Region to relax their visa regimes to enable free flow of people.
The Bangladesh minister addressed the Second Indian Ocean Conference in Colombo held under the aegis of the India Foundation on Thursday and Friday (August 31 and September 1).
Tofail Ahmed said tourism has a great prospect in the Indian Ocean littoral countries and stressed that they have to realise the full potential in the tourism sector.
“We need to consider liberalisation of visa regime and enhance land, air and maritime connectivity within the region,” he added.
