Banks to remain open until 6 pm today for revenue collection

In a bid to facilitate revenue collection, all bank branches across the country will remain open until 6 pm today (Monday), according to a spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank.

Transactions are usually conducted between 10 am and 4 pm, while bank offices remain open until 6 pm to complete post-transactional banking activities. 

However, for the sake of maximising revenue collection, transaction hours have been extended by two additional hours today.

As a result, customers will be able to carry out banking transactions until 6 pm this evening.

The country’s banks and capital market will remain closed on Tuesday as the new fiscal year 2025-26 begins on the day.

There will be no transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange or the Chittagong Stock Exchange either.

However, the head offices of Bangladesh Bank and various other banks, along with some selected branches, will remain open on a limited scale on Tuesday.
