The interim government is set to double the value-added tax (VAT) on some synthetic household products such as tableware and kitchenware to 15 per cent from 7.5 per cent in the national budget.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed is scheduled to present the proposed national budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 (FY26) at 3:00 pm today (Monday).
The pre-recorded budget speech will be broadcast through Bangladesh Television (BTV), Bangladesh Betar, and all private television channels.
