Bangladesh’s export earnings declined further in February this year, falling 12.03 per cent year-on-year to US$4.41 billion, according to the latest data released by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) on Monday.
Exports stood at US$3.97 billion at the corresponding month of the previous year.
During the July–February period of the current fiscal year (FY26), overall export receipts dropped 3.13 per cent to US$31.90 billion, compared to US$32.94 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Earnings from the country’s main export earner, the readymade garment (RMG) sector, fell 13.21 per cent in February to US$2.81 billion, down from US$3.24 billion in the same month last year.
In the first eight months (July–February) of the current fiscal, RMG exports declined 3.73 per cent to US$25.79 billion, against US$26.79 billion recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
