The government has released its fourth installment of cash incentive amounting to Tk 4.0 billion for disbursement among exporters for the fiscal year (FY) 2019-20.
The money will be distributed for the period of April-June 2020, according to a circular issued by the Ministry of Finance on Monday.
Of the amount, the jute and jute products subsector will get Tk 1.01 billion and the other sectors will have the remaining Tk 2.99 billion.
The Tk 2.99 billion support included a special 1.0 per cent incentive for the readymade garment (RMG) industry, the circular added.
At present, cash incentive is provided against export of products under 37 categories including one per cent additional special incentive for RMG products.
Other categories included the sectors – apparel manufacturing, frozen foods and fish, leather products, agro products and agro-processing industry – which will enjoy the incentive on their export earnings.
