Former Indian Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Jayant Dasgupta on Tuesday praised the readymade garment sector of Bangladesh.
"The way the garment sector of Bangladesh is moving forward fighting different adversities is highly appreciable," he said.
Dasaguptasaid it during a meeting with Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Md Siddiqur Rahman at the BGMEA office, reports UNB citing a press release.
Jayant, also a former Secretary of Indian Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, is visiting Bangladesh to learn about the country's garment sector.
At the meeting, the BGMEA president explained to Jayant about the present situation of the county's RMG sector as well as the challenges it is facing in the global and local markets.
