The National Board of Revenue (NBR) will accept income tax return for the tax year 2019-20 from individual taxpayers until December 1 (Sunday).
The deadline (November 30) has been extended, as it falls on a weekly holiday (Saturday).
The NBR's Income Tax Wing sent a directive in this regard to all its tax offices across the country on Tuesday.
As per Income Tax Ordinance 1984, the last date of tax return submission by individual taxpayers is November 30. The date has been declared as National Income Tax Day.
However, the National Board of Revenue will celebrate the day by organising a rally from its premises in Dhaka.
Finance Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal is expected to attend its inauguration ceremony as the chief guest.
The NBR Chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan will chair the programme.
