Two secretaries to lead new NBR divisions under current govt, says Chairman Khan

The two divisions of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) -- Revenue Policy and Revenue Management – will be introduced during the tenure of the interim government, NBR Chairman Md Abdur Rahman Khan says.

He expects the two divisions to begin operating soon once the remaining bureaucratic procedures are wrapped up by December, according to bdnews24.com.

“You know that all the legal processes to separate revenue policy and revenue management are almost complete,” the NBR chief said.

“Now the implementation process is underway. We are moving very fast on the matter. The allocation of business has nearly been finalised, and the rules of business are also nearly complete.”

He added that the organogram drafts for the two departments have already been finalised.

“We hope the bureaucratic steps remaining will be completed within this month,” he said.

“And we expect that you will see two secretaries leading the two divisions during the interim government’s tenure.”

Abdur made the remarks on Monday while unveiling an economic report by the General Economics Division.
