BB to focus solely on merger of five banks for now

Bangladesh Bank will, for now, concentrate solely on the proposed mergers of BASIC Bank, Padma Bank, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, BDBL and National Bank, a spokesperson of the central bank has said.

More merger proposals will be received only after work on the current proposals is done, said Bangladesh Bank Executive Director and Spokesperson Md Mezbaul Haque on Monday, according to local media.
