Within a decade and three years, Bangladesh is set to enter the league of top 25 largest economies of the world, according to an international projection unveiled Thursday.

It projects that the country will be the 24th economy in 2032, climbing from 41st in 2019.

It also shows that Bangladesh will be the 36th and the 27th economy in 2023 and 2028, respectively.

World Economic League Table (WELT) 2019, produced by London-based Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr), prepared the projection. CEBR is an international economic forecaster.

The latest forecast also mentions that China is going to overtake the Unites States (US) to become the world’s largest economy by 2032.

The WELT tracks the size of different economies across the globe and projects changes that will take place over the next 15 years until 2033.

“In the long run, many Asian economies will rise through the ranks of the WELT as these countries cash in on their demographic dividends,” it said in a press release.

“The two most prominent examples are Bangladesh, which will enter the top 25 largest economies in 24th place in 2032, and Pakistan, which will rise to 27th in 2033,” it adds.
