Five people were killed after a bus crashed head-on into a truck before falling into a roadside ditch in Gopalganj district on Sunday.
The incident occurred in the Majhigati Bus Stand area of Kashiani upazila around 7:30 am on Sunday, according to Sub Inspector Abdullahel Baki of Bhanga Highway Police Station.
An Imad Paribahan passenger bus was heading from Khulna to Dhaka when it crashed into an unladen truck travelling in the opposite direction, he said.
The bus was severely damaged in the accident. Five people were killed on the spot and several others were injured.
Police have yet to name and identify the victims.
