Foreign tourists visiting South Korea jumped in October as Chinese and Japanese visitors travelled to the country during the autumn holiday period, tourism agency data showed Thursday.
The number of foreign travellers to South Korea gained 31.1 per cent over the year to 1,527,832 in October, according to the Korea Tourism Organisation.
The figures for Chinese and Japanese tourists surged 37.6 per cent and 61.7 per cent respectively, reports Xinhua.
Excluding China and Japan, the number of foreign tourists to the country advanced 20.4 per cent in October from a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the number of South Korean tourists to foreign countries grew 5.2 per cent over the year to 2,347,876 last month.
