Bangladesh's inflationary pressure eased further in February 2025, mainly due to a decline in food prices.

The inflation as measured by the consumers' price index (CPI) came down to 9.32 per cent in February 2025 on the point-to-point basis from 9.94 per cent a month before. It was 10.89 per cent in December 2024.

Food inflation fell to 9.24 per cent in February from 10.72 per cent of the previous month, while non-food inflation rose to 9.38 per cent from 9.30 per cent, according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) latest data, released on Thursday.

On the other hand, annual average inflation also fell to 10.30 per cent during the period under review from 10.34 per cent in January 2025, the BBS data showed.
