Pilot dies after BAF training plane crashes in Chattogram

A pilot died after a training fighter plane of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) crashed in Chittagong.

The pilot, Asim Jawad, passed away around 12:30pm while undergoing treatment at Banouja Isa Khan Hospital in Patenga on Thursday.

Shakila Sultana, Deputy Commissioner of City Police (Port), confirmed the matter, according to a local news portal.

Co-pilot Wing Commander Sohan, who sustained injuries in the incident, is undergoing treatment at the hospital. 

Earning, the training plane of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) crashed in the Karnaphuli River in Chittagong in the morning.  However, the two pilots managed to eject from the aircraft before it crashed.

The pilot and co-pilot were rescued and taken to the hospital.
