Remittance inflow rises by 13.7pc in first 16 days of August

Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 13.7 per cent (pc), reaching US$1,264 million in the first 16 days of August, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today (Sunday). 
 
Last year, in the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $1,112 million, BSS reports. 

During the July 2025-August 16, 2025, of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $3,742 million, which was only $3,026 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
