Bangladesh extended their perfect start in the SAFF U‑20 Women’s Championship with a commanding 3‑0 victory over Bhutan at the Bashundhara Kings’ practice ground on Thursday.

Coach Peter Butler’s side, who had beaten Bhutan 4‑1 in their opening encounter, now lead the table on 12 points after four wins from four games.

Bangladesh took the lead in the 33rd minute after a Bhutanese defender failed to clear the ball in their own box as Trishna Rani converted the chance after quickly taking control of the ball and beating her opponent before netting the goal with a perfect shot.

Early in the second half, Bangladesh doubled their advantage courtesy of another lapse from Bhutan.

The keeper slipped while taking a goal kick, resulting in a sequence that led to a defender losing the ball to Munki Akhter, who set up an easy assist for Trisha to finish off her brace.

Sapna Rani sealed the win in the 74th minute with a spectacular long-range strike that hit the underside of the crossbar and landed over the line, leaving the Bhutanese keeper rooted to the spot.

Bangladesh, undefeated in the tournament, are sitting at the top of the table with 12 points and prepare to face Sri Lanka again on Saturday. The girls won the first encounter against Sri Lanka by a whooping 9-1 margin.
