The 2nd International Conference on Recent and Advanced Fiber and Polymer Materials (ICFP-2025), organized by the Society of Fiber Science, Bangladesh (SFSB), in collaboration with International Standard University (ISU) and Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), will be held from August 26–27, 2025.
The event will take place at BUTEX, Tejgaon, Dhaka, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, according to a media release.
This global event will bring together leading researchers, academics, and industry experts to share cutting-edge innovations and insights in fiber and polymer science.
Key topics will include sustainable textiles, eco-friendly fibers, electronic fibers, medical textiles, nanofibers, recycled fibers, muslin, geotextiles, carbon fibers, glass fibers, fiber spinning, weaving, wet processing, fiber-forming polymers, fiber structures and properties, fiber composites, fiber materials, RMG and industrial relations, the release says.
The conference will be presided over by Professor Dr. M.A. Barique, President of SFSB and faculty member at Shizuoka University, Japan.
Distinguished international guests include Professor Takeshi Kikutani (Former President, The Fiber Society of Japan & Institute of Science Tokyo), Professor Caroline L. Schauer (President, Fiber Society USA), Dr. Rudolf Hufenus (EMPA, Switzerland), Professor Suwabun Chirachanchai (Thailand), Professor Seeram Ramakrishna (Singapore), Professor Han Yong (Korea), Professor Shuichi Tanoue (President, Japan Society of Textile Machinery), and Professor Koji Nakane (Japan).
Renowned Bangladeshi academics and professionals—including Professor Dr. Md. Zulhash Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of BUTEX; Professor Mohammad Abul Kashem, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, ISU; Professor HTM Quader Newaz, Treasurer, ISU; and Professor Dr. Mohammad Masudur Rahman (EUB)—along with other famous academicians, researchers, industry leaders, policymakers, and students from leading institutions across the country, will take part in the event.
The organizers expressed their hope that this international platform will open a new horizon of research and innovation in Bangladesh’s textile and polymer industry, strengthening global collaboration and industrial development, the release adds.
