At the end of the seminar, Saiful Islam Badol, a student of the 45th Computer Science and Engineering batch and vice-president of the branch Chhatra League, was beaten with an iron rod. Saiful was taken to the university medical centre first and later to a private hospital in Savar, where he had three stitches on his head.
The victim is a resident of Bishwakabi Rabindranath Tagore Hall. The sudden attack occurred due to the ongoing dispute between Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall and Rabindranath Tagore Hall students in the last few days.
After this incident, Bishwakabi Rabindranath Tagore Hall students got excited and wanted to march towards Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall and were stopped by the proctorial team of the university at Jobayer Soroni.
Later, the injured student filed a written complaint with the proctor accusing the expelled fives, and an emergency meeting of the disciplinary committee was held at night.
