The AIUB Alumni Australia (AAA), the official alumni association of American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB), has recently organised a reunion at the Pullman Hotel near Sydney Airport to commemorate the university’s 30th anniversary, according to a media statement Monday.
The event, held on June 21 last, brought together AIUB graduates, faculty members, families, and guests from across Australia, including Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, and Perth. The gathering provided a platform for alumni to reconnect, reflect on their university days, and celebrate AIUB’s three-decade journey.
A key highlight of the evening was the attendance of Mrs Nadia Anwar, Founder Member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, AIUB, and Dr Carmen Z Lamagna, Board Member and former Vice Chancellor. In their inspiring speeches, both dignitaries reflected on AIUB’s remarkable progress over the past three decades and its growing recognition on the international stage.
Several alumni, in their speeches, expressed heartfelt gratitude to AIUB for shaping their professional lives and instilling strong values that continue to guide them today.
The gala evening featured opening remarks, cultural performances, dinner, and an awards ceremony honouring all participating alumni.
Attendees expressed their joy and pride in reconnecting with old friends, reminiscing about their student days, and building new professional and personal networks, according to the statement.
The reunion marked a significant milestone in strengthening AIUB’s global alumni network and reaffirming the lifelong bond shared by its graduates worldwide.
