On Saturday, 21st December 2024, the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) successfully hosted the AIUB Job Fair 2024 at its permanent campus.
The event was inaugurated by Ms. Nadia Anwar, Founder Member and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, AIUB, according to a media release.
This flagship event was organized by the Office of Placement & Alumni (OPA).
The AIUB Job Fair serves as a bridge for graduating students and alumni to transition seamlessly into the corporate world, the release says.
A total of 118 leading national and multinational companies participated in the job fair, representing various sectors of the economy, including banking, IT solutions, telecommunications, networking solutions, pharmaceuticals, electronics, leasing and finance, call centers, automobiles, accessories and equipment, hospitals, hotels, agro-businesses, and FMCGs, among others.
Prominent companies such as Abdul Monem Ltd., bKash Limited, BRAC Bank PLC, City Bank PLC, Eastern Bank PLC, Mutual Trust Bank PLC, Navana, Pathao Limited, Crown Cement, Meghna Group of Industries, Apex, GPH Ispat Limited, Le Meridien Dhaka, Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel, RFL Group, Robi Axiata PLC, United Hospital Limited, and others showcased their career opportunities to enthusiastic attendees.
Ms. Nadia Anwar and other distinguished guests visited the stalls and expressed their gratitude to the companies for their collaborative participation.
The job fair was graced by the presence of Dr. Carmen Zita Lamagna, Member of the Board of Trustees, AIUB; Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, AIUB; R. Tareque Moudud, FCMA, Director of OPA, along with proctor, deans, directors, departmental heads, faculty members, and other high-ranking officials of the university.
Representatives from the participating companies, many of whom are proud alumni of AIUB, further enriched the event.
Throughout the day-long program, students and alumni actively engaged with the companies, submitting resumes and exploring job opportunities aligned with their career aspirations, the release adds.
