The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement organized a celebratory march and rally at Dhaka University following the ban on Chhatra League.
On Wednesday night, st around 9:30 pm, they marched from the Vice-Chancellor's residence and held a rally at the Raju Memorial Sculpture.
During the march, they chanted slogans such as, “Breaking news: Chhatra League has been banned! Chhatra League is the militant accomplice of the murderer Hasina! We’ve shed blood and will shed more! Chhatra League in the pit, murderer Hasina in India—Delhi or Dhaka? Dhaka, Dhaka! Compromise or struggle? Struggle, struggle!”
Nusrat Tabassum, a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, began her speech by congratulating the crowd. “Today, Bangladesh and Dhaka University are free from disgrace. Thank you to this government. We will remain forever grateful. Other student organizations should also learn from this," she stated.
Coordinator Abu Sayed expressed his elation, saying, “We are extremely happy today because Chhatra League has been banned. We want to uproot Chhatra League and its associates from all over the country. Let all the sweets in Dhaka run out, but may our joy never end.”
Hasib Al Islam added, “They were born on the streets and have now fled from the streets. There will be no place for Mujibism in Bangladesh anymore. The revolution of 2024 has revealed how Mujibism has hidden the true history from us for so long. But now, they can no longer do that. We have defeated them through an uprising. The general public will finally learn the hidden truths of history.”
