In a vibrant gathering that blended academic rigor with youthful energy, ACC Genesis 2025 unfolded recently on the green campus of Adamjee Cantonment College, Dhaka drawing participants from top schools, colleges, and universities across the country.
The flagship inter-institutional debating championship followed the Asian 3-on-3 format under UADC rules and capped participation at 32 teams. Across five intense preliminary rounds, students competed not just for victory, but to demonstrate sharp reasoning, public speaking, and team collaboration—skills increasingly sought after in today's global economy.
Top-performing university teams such as IUT-01, BUP RAG, IBA DU-01, and Brac A advanced to the knockout stages in the Open category. Meanwhile, ACC 01, NDDC 1, MLIS 1, and DGBDS broke into the High School category, spotlighting Bangladesh's rising generation of debaters.
"This tournament is more than a contest-it's a platform for future changemakers to articulate ideas and debate issues that matter," said Nilufar Yeasmin, club moderator at Adamjee Cantonment College.
The weekend wasn't solely about arguments and adjudications. As night fell, the campus turned festive with performances by student volunteers-from song and dance to neon-lit stage productions-reminding attendees that debate is also about community and expression.
The finals brought fierce competition and moments of brilliance. Team IUT 01 (Tamim Ahmed, Sahib Rahman Khan, Moez Uddin Ashrafee) clinched the Open Championship title, with BUP RAG (Rubaiyat Samad, Abid Bin Ahmad, Gazi Mahtab) earning the runner-up position. In the High School division, the host team ACC 01 (Zobia Juearia, Zihad Hasan, Nazia Nawar Karim) emerged as champions, while MLIS 1 took home second place.
In his closing remarks, Principal ABM Nowroj Ehsan praised the students' courage and clarity: "Events like Genesis affirm the promise of Bangladesh's youth-not only as top debaters but as tomorrow's policymakers, entrepreneurs, and innovators."
With crests awarded and applause echoing, ACC Genesis 2025 concluded as a resounding success-proving once again that the art of debate is alive and thriving in Bangladesh's academic landscape.
