BAU’s Muktijoddha Smriti Vidyalaya honours July Protest in annual sports event

The annual sports competition and prize distribution ceremony of Muktijoddha Smriti Vidyalaya, located on the premises of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), was held on Wednesday (February 26) .

As part of the event, students staged a play commemorating the July Protest, paying tribute to martyrs Abu Sayeed and Mir Mughed. The performances highlighted the sacrifices made during the movement, portraying the martyrs' unwavering patriotism and courage.

Dr. Md. Mahmudul Alam, Acting Headmaster of Muktijoddha Smriti Vidyalaya and Professor of the Department of Surgery and Obstetrics, presided over the program. BAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.K. Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan attended as the chief guest, while Proctor Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Alim was present as the special guest.

Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan praised the students' performance, stating, “The way the students have portrayed the July Protest is truly commendable. Martyrs like Sayeed and Mughed exemplified patriotism, honesty, and the strength to stand against injustice. Their sacrifices will forever be remembered in the history of Bengal.”
