Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) appointed Prof. Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman as the new Treasurer on Wednesday.
By the directive of the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, Prof. Dr. Saidur was appointed as the university's new treasurer. He will officially assume his responsibilities from next Thursday (March 14).
He replaced the outgoing Treasurer, Kbd. Md. Waliullah. The handover ceremony took place at 4:00 pm in the conference hall of the administrative office. The event was attended by university student counsellors, proctors, teachers from various departments, and staff members.
Prof. Dr. Saidur Rahman joined the Department of Agricultural Economics as a lecturer in 2000. Later, he served as the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics. Additionally, he has served as the Director of the Institute Of Agribusiness And Development Studies (IADS) and as the Vice-Chairman of the 2022-24 Committee of the Bangladesh Agricultural Economics Society.
Currently, he is the vice-president of the Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA) and Professor of Agricultural Economics at BAU.
