Bishwa Sahitya Kendra awards winners of book reading programme

Bishwa Sahitya Kendra (BSK) awarded the winners of its book reading programme on Friday.

A total of 744 class 11 students from 21 colleges received the award in a prize giving ceremony organised by BSK at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka.

Former principal secretary Kamal Chowdhury addressed the event as the chief guest.

In his speech, he urged the winners to build the nation by applying knowledge which they acquire by reading books.  

BSK director Sharif Md Masud said the book reading programme will be extended to all educational institutions across the country, adding that a total of 2.4 million students participated in the BSK’s book reading programme to date.

At the event, associate editor of Daily Prothom Alo Anisul Hoque inspired students by exampling the book reading habits successful world leaders.
