BOU celebrates 32nd founding anniversary

Bangladesh Open University BOU as the first Open and distance learning University celebrated its 32^nd founding anniversary with festivity on Monday at its main campus Gazipur.

BOU’s Vice-Chancellor professor Dr. ABM Obidul Islam, founding Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M Shamser Ali, Pro- Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Dil Rowshan Zinnat Ara Nazneen, Deans, directors, teachers, officers and other employees were present at the event, according to a media release. 

In observance of the foundation day, BOU authority has given its four injured (anti-discrimination movement) students financial assistance of Tk two lacs for supporting treatment.

Earlier, in the morning Vice Chancellor with others paid a floral wreath at BOU’s Sohid Minar to the respect of all the martyrs.

The day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. After that flags were hoisted, balloons and pigeons were released in the sky on this occasion.

Later, they took out a colorful procession. The procession circled the campus and ended in front of vice chancellors office.

At the central auditorium, a discussion meeting was held on the occasion of the celebration, the release adds.
