Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) students protested on the campus for the second day, demanding the permanent expulsion of six students. At 12:30 pm, they ended the movement. However, the students will continue to move if demands are not accepted.
In this regard, Vice-Chancellor of BUET, Professor Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder, said, "The BUET administration is in agreement with the students' movement. But it is not possible for anyone to do anything outside the law. An inquiry committee has been constituted. The inquiry committee has been asked to submit its report by April 8. After that the academic council will meet and decide.
"The Vice-Chancellor can only expel from the hall. The academic council will take action for breach of discipline. If the complaint is proved, the BUET administration will take action as per law." he added.
Earlier, Students mentioned that the central President of the Chhatra League, the office secretary, and many others entered the BUET campus. They said, "BUET student Imtiaz Rabbi played an important role in getting the Chhatra League leaders into the campus. After the ban on student politics, students see such activities as the beginning of new politics in BUET."
Afterward, they started the movement by questioning the university administration due to the resumption of political activities and insecurity on the campus. Later, the BUET administration expelled Imtiaz Rabbi from the hall last night. However, as all the demands were not accepted, the students started protesting again for the second day today.
