The School of Business and the Office of External Affairs at Uttara University jointly organised the 'Business Alumni Reunion 2025', a day-long celebration that brought together former students, faculty members, and special guests for a heartfelt gathering of shared memories and joy, according to a media statement Saturday.
Held on Friday (August 1), the event began with an opening speech from Associate Professor Kazi Tareq Ullah of the Department of Business Administration. Dr Ishrat Hossain, Dean of the School of Business, and Professor Dr ASM Shahabuddin, the university’s Proctor, also delivered welcome remarks.
The reunion was attended by Professor Dr Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University, who attended as the chief guest. In her address, she highlighted the importance of alumni engagement and maintaining a strong bond with the university community.
Among the esteemed guests was Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Gour Gobinda Goswami, who inspired attendees with reflections on the university’s journey and future aspirations. Additional remarks came from Registrar Kazi Mahiuddin and Mohammad Ahbir Azad, Head of Marketing at Bangladesh Honda Private Ltd. Former faculty members and alumni also took the stage to share emotional recollections of their time at the university.
As part of the extended two-day programme on July 31 and August 1, Honda Ltd offered free bike rides and conducted awareness sessions for students, adding a practical and engaging component to the celebration.
The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mohammad Ali, In-Charge of the Office of External Affairs, who acknowledged the efforts of all participants and organisers in making the event a success.
The post-lunch segment featured interactive games, a raffle draw, and exciting bike rides. A colourful cultural performance showcased the talents of both current students and alumni, while the festivities culminated in a grand concert by popular band “Lalon,” energising the crowd and wrapping up the reunion on a high note.
The event was supported by the Office of Brand and Communication, the Office of Public Relations, and the School of Business Administration.
