A commemoration of Dr. A. A. M. S. Arefin Siddique, former Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Dhaka University (DU) and former Professor of its Department of Mass Communication and Journalism (DMCJ) was held on Wednesday. DMCJ organised the event at the Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium of DU.
DU VC Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan, Pro-VC (Education) Prof Dr. Mamun Ahmed, younger brother of Prof Arefin Siddique - Atik Ullah Siddique, Prof Sakhawat Ali Khan, and teachers, students, and alumni of the department shared their memories.
Professor Niaz said, " I made some important personal decisions after consulting him. I express my gratitude for his contribution."
"Administratively, as a colleague and personal advisor, Arefin Siddique's role touched me. He was a true gentleman. Anyone, whether a friend or foe, would understand this if he thinks logically."
