DU VC urges speaking out against anti-liberation evil forces

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr ASM Maksud Kamal has urged the young generation to speak out against the anti-liberation evil forces and said that the anti-liberation evil forces and their descendants don't want to acknowledge the contribution of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 

He said this as the chief guest at the discussion meeting titled "The Importance and Significance of the historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman" at TSC of Dhaka University campus on Thursday, March 7.

Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr Muhammad Samad presided over the discussion. Pro VC Sitesh Chandra Bachar and Treasurer Prof. Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed were present as guests. 

Professor Dr ASM Maksud Kamal highlighted the global significance and relevance of the historic March 7 speech and said this speech not only inspired the Bengali nation in 1971 but will continue to inspire all the neglected, deprived and freedom-seeking ethnic groups of the world throughout the ages. That is why the historic March 7 speech was included in UNESCO's Memory of the World Register as a World Documentary Heritage in 2017.

The VC urged everyone to spread the context and correct history of the March 7 speech to the new generation, saying that everyone should work unitedly to build a prosperous Bangladesh following the ideals of Bangabandhu.

The president of the teacher's association, Professor Dr Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, General Secretary Professor Dr Zeenat Huda, Dhaka University Alumni Association Secretary General Molla Mohammad Abu Kawshar, along leaders of the Officers Association, were also present.

Earlier in the morning, DU VC gave wreaths on the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi No. 32. Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr Sitesh Chandra Bachar, Treasurer Professor Mumtaz Uddin Ahmed along with teachers, officials and employees of the university were present.
