e-school of Life launches coding education for children

e-school of Life has launched coding education for children aged between eight to seventeen through an online platform.

Coding is the process of using a programming language to get a computer to behave how people want it to be.

e-school of Life, a platform of glocal (global+local) learning management Ltd., launched online basic education for the kids on July 01, 2021, according to a press release issued by the institute.

The press release said a total of 90 students from 43 educational institutions including eight higher secondary institutions of both Dhaka and Chattogram enrolled for the online coding education.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhaka University Friends' Alliance Joint General Secretary Md Abu Saleh said education is meant to educate the next generation, equipping themselves with future technological knowledge and tools.

He said coding should be started from an early age. "This is very much important to learn how to code at younger ages as it prepares themselves for the future technology-based era".

The instructor of the coding course is Mrs. Romasa Kasem, a lecturer of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Independent University of Bangladesh.

The month-long programme has been designed as per the guidelines of the US-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The course has 12 online interactive classes which will come to an end on August 02 next.

The students will be assigned for some projects to be prepared considering their ages.

During the inaugural class, many guardians also participated. Former DUFA secretary-general Dr. Syed Neamul Islam and DUFA member Syeda Taslima Tuhin, Senior Teacher, Shaheed Bir Uttam Lt Anwar Girls' College, among others, welcome the initiative.

e-school of Life chief executive officer Atiq Ullah Masud and a large number of guardians participated in the inaugural session.
