Faculty of Business Studies at DU, Dabir-Sohani-Suraiya Foundation sign agreement to award scholarships

Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka (DU) and the Dabir-Sohani-Suraiya Foundation recently signed an agreement to support meritorious and financially challenged students. 

Dr Muhammad Abdul Moyeen, the dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, and Chowdhury Mohammed Hanif Shoebthe, president of Dabir-Sohani-Suraiya Foundation and the managing director of Salma Group, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations, said a press release. 

Professor Dr A S M Maksud Kamal, vice chancellor of the University of Dhaka, was present as the chief guest at the signing ceremony, held at the Dr Abdullah Farouk Multipurpose Hall on the university campus.

During the programme, the chief guest presented cheques to 10  meritorious and financially challenged students of the Faculty of Business Studies. 

Md Ataur Rahman Prodhan, former managing director and CEO of Sonali Bank PLC and vice president of Dabir-Sohani-Suraiya Foundation; Arfan Ali, former president and managing director of Bank Asia Limited and vice president of Dabir-Sohani-Suraiya Foundation; retired air commodore A K M Rafique Uddin, secretary of Dabir-Sohani-Suraiya Foundation and executive director of Salma Group, along with respected faculty members and students were present on the occasion.
