The deadline for submitting forms for this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams has been extended once more.

A notice issued by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka on Monday said candidates can apply on Jun 18 and 19, with fee payment through Sonali Seba also closing on Jun 19.

Form submission deadlines typically end weeks before exams begin, but this year students are being allowed to complete the process right up to the week of the test.

SM Kamal Uddin Haider, convenor of the Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers’ Committee, said the extension aims to accommodate as many candidates as possible.

Asked about the number of applicants, the Dhaka board’s exam controller said the final count will be available only after the process is complete.

Science stream students are required to pay up to Tk 2,785, while fees for humanities and business students are set at Tk 2,225.

An additional Tk 140 applies for each practical subject.

This is the third extension of the form submission window. The process began on Mar 2 and continued without late fees until Mar 10.

With an added late fee of Tk 100, students could still apply until Mar 17.

A later round ran from Apr 13 to Apr 21 for students who missed earlier deadlines, with fee payment allowed until Apr 22.

The HSC and equivalent exams will begin on Jun 26.

Written tests will run through Aug 10, followed by practicals from Aug 11 to 21.

The 2025 HSC exams will follow the shortened or revised syllabuses of 2023.

Education boards have confirmed that this year’s exams will be held with full marks and full durations.
