As one of the earliest inter-university business case competitions in the country, creADive sees fierce competitors vying to stand out as the best team.
"With 'IDLC presents creADive powered by Bio-Xin Cosmeceuticals' BUP BCC aimed to reshape students' perception of marketing campaigns and we have achieved more than we had planned to. With each round presenting the participants with progressively challenging problems and curveballs requiring them to think on their feet, we have successfully pushed the best and the brightest to work their creative muscles rigorously to reach the crown," said Syed Farabee Abbas, senior vice president at BUP BCC, reminiscing over the event.
True to his words, the event has been well received by attendees. Each of the four rounds had its own set of challenges, progressively getting harder - and based on real-life situations that companies face.
The first round required teams to create marketing campaigns for the promotion of loan services, while the second round asked for 360 marketing campaign ideas in regard to the female-focused financial services offered by IDLC Finance. In this progressive fashion, the third round case was regarding offline and online marketing activation campaign of IDLC Online Savings. Teams were required not only to ideate campaigns but also to prove their effectiveness via demo activations. The semifinalists ran their offline activation campaigns on their respective university campuses, reaching more than hundreds of interested people.
In the grand finale, five teams presented their campaigns built to create a savings mindset - of which ‘Team Khichuri’ from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka emerged as champions. ‘Team Work in Progress’ from Bangladesh University of Professionals emerged as first runners-up, while ‘Team Overkill’ from Bangladesh University of Professionals & North South University secured the second runners-up position. The podium places were awarded Tk 150,000, Tk 90,000, and Tk 60,000 respectively in addition to being crowned as per their merits.
Mohtasim Bin Habib, one of the members of the champion team, stated, "CreADive sticks out as one of the most challenging competitions to conquer. It's been an intense month, and I'm proud of my team for our efforts to win this feat."
After being asked what he thought set his team apart, he replied, "I believe trusting our gut feeling and keeping consistency in our solutions played a key role."
CreADive has been thorough and ambitious in what it demands from its participants and will set a standard for marketing and business competitions in the years to come because it gave challenges related to actual business and community problems.
