Int'l geology conference kicks off tomorrow at JU

A two-day international conference titled 'Engineering Geology and Environment’ will begin at the Jahangirnagar University (JU) on Tuesday.

JU Geological Sciences Department in association with the International Association of Engineering Geology & Environment (IAEG) will organise the conference at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium on the campus, says a BSS report.

“We are going to arrange the programme for the first time on the campus. Students who are interested in study and research on geological fields will be beneficiated from this programme,” chairman of the Geological Sciences associate professor Mahfuzul Haque said.

The two-day conference will be featured with rally, quiz competitions, research paper presentation for students, poster presentations for engineering research group, discussion on different environment issues, including climate change, geo-engineering and water resource management, and concluding session.
