ISU hosts day-long workshop to enhance professional skills for faculty members

International Standard University (ISU) arranged a day-long training workshop on “BAC Accreditation for Academic Programs,” organised by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of ISU to enhance the professional and academic capabilities of its faculty members.
The event took place on Monday at the university’s Mohakhali campus and was inaugurated by ISU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan, according to a media release.
Academic and administrative members from various departments of ISU participated in the workshop, which focused on standards set by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) for accreditation of academic programmes.
The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Ekramul Hoque, Director of IQAC. Professor Dr. Monjur Morshed Mahmud, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, and Professor Md. Abul Kashem, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, were present in the workshop as the special guests.
Dr. Monirul Hasan Masum, Additional Director of IQAC, conducted the workshop.
In his speech, Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan emphasized the importance of professional development for teachers through continuous training and stressed aligning academic programs with the OBE (Outcome-Based Education)-based curriculum as recommended by the University Grants Commission and BAC.
He noted that effective teacher-student communication is essential for building strong academic environment and contributing to students’ holistic development.
The vice chancellor also highlighted the need for strong communication skills to build positive, supportive relationships between faculty and students. Teachers must play a vital role in guiding students toward a better and more meaningful life.
