ISU hosts seminar to enhance textile students’ professional skills

A seminar titled “Essential Skills for a Successful Textile Engineer” was organized by the ISU Textile Club of International Standard University (ISU) on Thursday afternoon at the university’s Mohakhali campus.
The event aimed to enhance students’ professional competencies and prepare them for future leadership in the textile industry, according to a media release.
The session was presided over by ISU Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and Chairperson of the Department of Textile Engineering Professor Md. Abul Kashem. ISU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan attended the seminar as the chief guest.
Addressing the students, Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan said that the global textile sector is expanding rapidly, creating increasing opportunities for skilled professionals.
He urged students to focus on acquiring technical knowledge and practical experience alongside their academic studies to achieve long-term career success.
ISU Treasurer Professor H T M Quader Newaz advised students to develop leadership qualities and an entrepreneurial mindset in addition to preparing for employment. “Perseverance, practical skills, and professional integrity are the keys to success in the textile industry,” he remarked.
In his speech, Professor Md. Abul Kashem highlighted the vast potential of Bangladesh’s growing textile industry and emphasized the importance of communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities for future industry leaders.
ISU Lecturer Habiba Altaf of the Department of Textile Engineering anchored the seminar, where Lecturer Raiyan Khair Fuad served as the keynote speaker.
ISU Chairperson of the Department of Apparel Merchandising and Management, Jaglul Hoque Mridha, and Registrar Md. Faizullah Kawsik attended the event, joined by faculty members and students.
