IUB champion in IUT OIC inter-university football championship

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has become unbeaten champion in IUT OIC inter university football championship 2018. A 2-day tournament organised by Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Gazipur began on September 21.

A total of 16 public and private universities took part in the contest where IUB clinched the title in a nail-biting contested match defeating the host team, IUT by 4-3 in the final, said a statement.

On the way to becoming the champion, IUB won all six matches where the significant victories had been, against IBA of University of Dhaka by 3-0, Dhaka Medical College by 3-1, Jahangirnagar University by 2-0 and East West University by 2-0.

Apart from the team’s glorious success, IUB also bagged many individual awards in the tournament. Among them, Foyaej Ahamed Peash got the man of the tournament award while Intishar Mostofa Chowdhury received the highest scorer and Amitab Majumder bagged the best goalkeeper awards.
