Jahangirnagar University (JU) conducted the admission test for the remaining four shifts of the ‘D’ unit under the Faculty of Biological Sciences, along with the entrance exam for the Institute of Business Administration (IBA-JU), for the 2024-2025 academic year on Monday.

The ‘D’ unit admission test was held in four shifts, while the IBA-JU exam, for both male and female applicants, took place in the fifth shift.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan inspected the examination process at the Old Kala Bhaban, the Faculty of Business Studies, and the Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture.

After the inspection, he said, "We saw that yesterday, unexpectedly, students and guardians seeking admission could not reach the test centre on time due to traffic. For this reason, with the help of the local administration, police administration, and the army, the overall traffic is running smoothly today. There is no traffic jam today."

He further stated, "There is a double-decker bus service from Dhaka's Asadgate area to the university's Bish-mile every hour. We are hopeful that the environment for taking exams will continue without any problems."

The admission test for female candidates in the ‘D’ unit was conducted the previous day. The unit has 155 seats each for male and female students, with a total of 86,755 applications received—47,691 from female and 39,064 from male candidates—resulting in a competition ratio of 280 applicants per seat.

For the IBA-JU unit, 4,687 candidates applied for 50 seats, with 94 applicants competing for each seat.

The admission tests for the E Unit (Faculty of Business Studies), A Unit (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics), and the Institute of Information Technology are scheduled for tomorrow.
