JU tops THE 2025 Rankings nationally in CSE and Physical Science

Jahangirnagar University has achieved the distinction of being the top institution in Bangladesh in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Subject Rankings for two categories: in Computer Science category and Geology, Environmental, Earth, and Marine Science under the Physical Science category.
The globally recognized UK-based education magazine, THE, published the rankings on January 22, 2025, covering 11 subject categories.
Jahangirnagar University secured a position between 401-500 in the Computer Science category and 601-800 in Geology, Environmental, Earth, and Marine Science under the Physical Science category, the highest rankings for any institution in the country.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan congratulated teachers, students, and researchers for the university's achievement as the top institution in Bangladesh in these subjects.
He stated, “This accomplishment has elevated the university’s global recognition and reputation, bringing joy to the administration.”
He hoped it would inspire other departments to strive for excellence and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to enhancing education and research, adding, “Financial incentives for publishing in international journals have already been increased and will continue.”
