National Insurance Day celebrated at Chittagong University

National Insurance Day has been celebrated at Chittagong University (CU) to raise awareness about the importance of insurance and its benefits.

The day was celebrated on Wednesday (March 1) at the initiative of the University's Banking and Insurance Department. An awareness rally was organized to mark the day.

The Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Professor Dr Helal Nizami, the teachers-students and officers-staff of the department attended it. In this rally, the participants toured various parts of the university campus with banners and placards promoting the importance of insurance.

At one stage of the program, Mrs Taslima Akhter, Chairman of the Banking and Insurance Department of Chittagong University, highlighted the importance of insurance in today's world. She said, “Insurance provides financial protection and peace of mind to individuals, families and businesses. It helps them manage risks and deal with unexpected events that can have a devastating impact on their lives and livelihoods.”

Assistant Professor Abu Bakar Siddique said, “Insurance is an essential tool for achieving sustainable economic development and promoting social welfare. Hence, it is very important to educate people about the benefits of insurance and encourage them to make informed decisions about their insurance needs.”

The teachers and students of the department also said that National Insurance Day is an important day that will highlight the importance of insurance in protecting the people of Bangladesh from financial loss and promoting sustainable development. 
The Department of Banking and Insurance, University of Chittagong, has taken a proactive approach to create awareness about the benefits of insurance by organizing an awareness rally. 
This arrangement is a step towards building a more risk-aware society and financial upliftment among the people of Bangladesh.
