NSU hosts a seminar on contemporary compensation strategies in the banking sector of Bangladesh

North South University's (NSU) Department of Management organised a seminar titled "Contemporary Compensation Strategies in the Banking Sector of Bangladesh: An HR Perspective" on Thursday at NSU.

The session was graced by the presence of Dr AKM Waresul Karim, Professor and Dean of the School of Business & Economics (SBE), as the Special Guest. It featured Mr Md Sahidul Islam, Senior Executive Vice President & Head of Business at Shimanto Bank PLC, as the Guest Speaker. 

In his remarks, Dr Karim emphasised the importance of understanding evolving compensation frameworks in the country's banking sector and highlighted the need for students to stay abreast of industry trends. '

Mr Sahidul Islam, the guest speaker, made an insightful presentation on contemporary compensation practices, the impact of digitalisation, and HR strategies shaping talent management in the banking industry. His real-world examples and practical perspectives were highly engaging for the participants. 

The programme was organised under the guidance of Dr Ziaul Haq Adnan, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Management, who commended the initiative for bridging the gap between academic learning and industry needs & requirements.

The event was coordinated by Ms Hamida Mosharraf Moniea, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management, whose untiring efforts ensured the smooth execution of the programme. 

The seminar was attended by students from the School of Business & Economics, who actively participated and engaged with the speaker during the Q&A session. The event provided students with valuable insights into modern HR practices, compensation strategies, and industry expectations in Bangladesh's financial sector.
