The Poultry Science Department of the Animal Husbandry Faculty at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has distributed approximately 3,500 eggs.
In commemoration of World Egg Day, the Department of Poultry Science organized a colorful day-long program that included free egg distribution, a rally, and a seminar.
The egg distribution program took place on Monday, October 21, at the university's Agricultural University Primary School, three madrasas, and the KR Market.
A total of 500 eggs were distributed among the students, parents, and authorities of the primary school, as well as to the general public at KR Market.
During the program, the Dean of the Animal Husbandry Faculty, Professor Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin, along with the Head of the Poultry Science Department, Professor Dr. Bapon Dey, faculty members, and students were present.
Professor Dr. Bapon Dey emphasized that eggs are a highly nutritious food and recommended that people of all ages should consume one egg a day. As part of the initiative, around 500 eggs were distributed to KB Primary School students and parents, and approximately 1,000 eggs were delivered to two madrasas.
He also mentioned, “We distributed free eggs to the general public, including rickshaw pullers and laborers at KR Market.”
Several recipients expressed their gratitude, stating, "We are very happy to receive free eggs, and we thank the authorities for organizing such a program."
