The authorities of Rajshahi University (RU) for the first time in its history on Thursday awarded the university gardeners for keeping the campus beautiful by gardening.
RU Vice-chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan handed over the awards to the gardeners in a ceremony at the university administrative building.
He also urged all employees and staffs of the university to carry out their duties and responsibilities to make the university an example to others.
Among others, Pro-vice Chancellor Professor Ananda Kumar Saha, Treasurer Professor AKM Mostafizur Rahman, Student Adviser Professor Zannatul Ferdous, Public Relation Officer Professor Provash Kumar Karmakar and Professor Gour Pada Ghosh of Botany department addressed the function.
Gardeners Alam and Moti Biswash and their teams received the awards under administrative building category while Jabir Hossain and Md Alam and their teams received the awards in halls and institutes category, reports UNB.
