The Dhaka University Entrepreneurship Development Club (DUEDC) has successfully wrapped up its much-awaited skill development program called 'Mentors' Presents Skillneurs 2.0 - Time To Be Equipped.'
Run by the students of the University of Dhaka, DUEDC is known for its commitment to nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit and favouring a culture of innovation among students.
To channelise one of its visions - acquainting curious learners with soft skills that are elemental in the field of entrepreneurship, DUEDC organised a well-timed program like Skillneurs 2.0. The event was exclusively designed for students from all universities of Bangladesh who aspire to be entrepreneurs and have a keen interest in acquiring the necessary skills regarding entrepreneurship.
'Mentors' Education' solely sponsored the event while the ICT Division, along with the Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (IDEA) Project of the government, supported it strategically.
MAMA and Fresh were the food partners, and Lead Academy facilitated the event with logistics. The event was inaugurated with two days of offline training with four exclusive sessions for the learners on the 4th and 6th of June, conducted by renowned corporate faces like Dipesh Nag (Managing Director of Grameen Danone), Don Sumdany (Chief Inspirational Officer, Don Sumdany Facilitation and Consultancy), Galib Bin Mohammad (Head of Marketing, Arla Food Bangladesh) and Biplob Ghosh Rahul (Co-founder and CEO, eCourier LTD).
Spontaneous participation and insightful discussions marked the successful completion of the training sessions. The training sessions were followed by two online mentorship call opportunities supervised by experts from the industry, including Siddhartho Goswami (Senior Consultant, Head of Operations, iDEA Project) and Zawad Alam Jarif (Founder and Team Lead, Project WE, Advisor and former President, DUEDC).
The event participants were given the opportunity to work in different teams and solve real-time corporate problems regarded as cases through unique submissions of videos. Honourable judges of the panel evaluated the cases submitted and selected the winners.
The closing ceremony of "Mentors' Presents Skillneurs 2.0 - Time To Be Equipped" was held on 14th June at Habibullah Conference Hall at the University of Dhaka. The formalities of the ceremony began with significant panel discussions by the honourable guests.
Among others, Syed Alamgir (CEO of Meghna Group of Industries) and Asif Uddin Ahmed (Assistant Professor and Director of the University of Liberal Arts) were present.
"An entrepreneur can contribute to profound positive changes in a society, and for that, they have to work hard and smartly," Mr Alamgir said in an inspiring note.
15 participants for their exceptional solutions in the case-solving phase were announced as the winners and were awarded by the guests.
Top event contributors among the club members were given the 'Skillstar' award for their contributions. The elated participants and members of the club voiced their delight to have been able to attend the event.
'Mentors' Presents Skillneurs 2.0 - Time To Be Equipped' set out to be a dynamic platform that brought together aspiring entrepreneurs, industry experts, and accomplished professionals to share knowledge, insights, and experiences. Considering the responses from the participants, it can be stated that the event organised by DUEDC triumphantly offered interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, enabling participants to gain practical skills, expand their networks, and explore new business opportunities as well as continue the succession of executing outstanding events by the club.
