Times Higher Education Impact Ranking: GAU secures top position among Bangladesh's public universities

Gazipur Agricultural University (GAU) has achieved the first place among all public universities in Bangladesh in the Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Ranking 2025.

The reputed UK-based education magazine Times Higher Education (THE) published the ranking on its official website on Wednesday. According to the ranking, GAU is first among the public universities in the country to be rangled at 801-1000th at the international level.

The ranking has been done by evaluating the contribution and activities of 2,526 renowned higher education institutions from 130 countries around the world based on the 17 goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Earlier in January this year, GAU was ranked the best in the country in the Times Higher Education 'World University Subject Ranking-2025'. GAU secured the first place among all the public-private universities in the country in the Life Sciences category.

In addition, GAU achieved the top position among all the agricultural universities in the country in the Asia Ranking of THE 2025 and GAU was included in the list of the world's top 300 innovative universities in the 2024 URI ranking.

GAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr GKM Mostafizur Rahman said: "It is a proud achievement for GAU to have achieved the top position among all the public universities of the country in the Times Higher Education University Impact Ranking 2025."
