Aiming to enrich the knowledge and skills of startups in Bangladesh as well as developing a digital startup ecosystem, Bangladesh-South Korea jointly hold the 'ideaTHON' contest.
This contest was organised by the iDEA project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ICT Division with the slogan “Let’s Start You Up”.
The closing and award giving ceremony of ‘ideaTHON’ was held on Thursday at the BCC Auditorium in the capital.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, state minister for ICT, was present in the function as the chief guest, while Lee Jang-keun, Ambassador, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bangladesh and N M Zeaul Alam PAA, senior secretary, ICT Division, were present as the Guest of Honour.
Parthapratim Deb, Executive Director (Additional Secretary), BCC, Bangladesh, Sanggon Park, Director, Korea Productivity Center, South Korea, Syed Almas Kabir, President, BASIS and Tina Jabeen, Managing Director, Startup Bangladesh Limited, Bangladesh were present as the special guests at the event.
The programme was chaired by the project director (Additional Secretary) of the iDEA Project Syed Mojibul Huq.
Applications came down to 118 after the completion of secondary screening. In the first judging, top 30 teams were selected from 118, according to a statement issued on Thursday.
Thereafter, the final judging session took place on December 14 and 15 when the judges from both Bangladesh and South Korea, after their meticulous selection process, selected the five winning teams who will finally go to South Korea. The judges declared the top five Bangladeshi startups as the winners after the final selection.
The winning teams are:
Chobir Baksho (Arif Rahman, Arafat Rahman, Ibnul Islam, Sumit Adnan and Imtiaz Ahmed); Krishian (Ahsan Ahmed and Md Mamunur Reza); Char Chokka Ltd (Nourin Haque Ridi, Ashfaqul Azam, Yasir Hasan Taqi and Rukshar Alam); ANTT Robotics Ltd. (Thajid Ibna Rouf Uday, Raffid Uddin Bhuiya Nehal, Nazib Ahmad, Shuvadip Das and Sabab Mahmud);Rokkhi Limited Abrar Masum Shanto, Plabon shekh, Abrar Galib, Mohammad Faisal and Fahim Hasnain Fahad)
